_________
Bowenian Family Systems Therapy - Examines multigenerational patterns and emotional processes within families. Focuses on differentiation of self, triangulation, and helping family members become less emotionally reactive and more autonomous.
Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) - Short-term approach for families with adolescents showing behavioral problems. Identifies and modifies problematic family interactions that contribute to youth difficulties.
Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) - Extends EFT principles to family relationships. Focuses on attachment bonds, emotional security, and creating responsive connections between family members, particularly between parents and children.
Experiential Family Therapy - Uses activities, role-play, and emotional expression to help families experience and communicate in new ways. Emphasizes authenticity, spontaneity, and growth through immediate experience.
Family Systems - Views the family as a system where each person in the family plays an important role. Helps address conflict by viewing problems a circular and not due to one person and create issues over time. The work is to understand why the family may resist change versus continuing to deal with conflict and building healthier boundaries.
Solution-Focused Family Therapy - Brief, strength-based approach emphasizing solutions rather than problems. Helps families identify what's working, envision their preferred future, and take small steps toward achievable goals.
Strategic Family Therapy - Problem-focused, brief approach that addresses specific issues through strategic interventions. Therapist designs directives and tasks to disrupt problematic interaction patterns and promote change.
Structural Family Therapy - Focuses on family organization and hierarchy. The therapist works to restructure dysfunctional family patterns, establish appropriate boundaries, and clarify roles to create a healthier family system.
Transgenerational Family Therapy - Explores how patterns, beliefs, and traumas are transmitted across generations. Helps families understand inherited dynamics and create new, healthier patterns for future generations
